This course if being offered next for fall 2009 semester online. Students will not have to visit campus. All that is needed is access to the Internet, whether at home or work. Enjoy "going to class" when convenient. The next regular offering of this course following fall 2007 will tentatively be fall 2008.
SPECIAL NOTE: There will be a special section of this course offered spring 2008 for participants of the Indiana Career and Technical Director's Academy. The course will be available for spring 2008 only to those who are already accepted into the academy. For this special class there will tentatively be two to three face-to-face sessions on Saturdays at a career center in Indianapolis (yeet to be identified). These remote site sessions have not yet been finalized and are still a tentative alternative to a number of the regular online activities.
Explore the ideas/concepts that and people who have molded the field of career and technical (vocational) education. Examine the earliest forms of education and follow the trends and philosophies that have guided the development of and determined the current features of this essential facet of education. Many interesting people have helped define career and technical education. The class will explore their ideas and impacts on education and collectively discuss the significance and application of each of the philosophies and theories affecting career and technical education in both the past and in our current society.
